Background

Laura's first Bar admission was to the Minnesota Bar in 1993. Laura became a member of the Virginia Bar in 2005 and joined Edmunds & Williams that year. Laura is a member of the Virginia Bar Association, the Lynchburg Bar Association, and the Lynchburg Estate Planning Council. In addition to Virginia, Laura is licensed to practice in the state courts of Maryland and North Carolina.

She is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Lynchburg, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Arc of Central Virginia. She also chairs the Small Business Committee of the Lynchburg Regional Chamber of Commerce. Laura was a recent recipient of Virginia Legal Aid's Pro Bono award for her active and recurrent handling of cases referred by Legal Aid.

Laura grew up in North Carolina and lives with her family live in Farmville, Virginia where her husband, Jonathan, is a professor of Physics and Astronomy at Hampden-Sydney College.
